Big News

I just found out on Friday that I am pregnant!

Wow, what a shock. I'm getting excited now, but it was somewhat unnerving when I wasn't expecting it.

I have to figure out where to put a nursery and how we're going to afford him/her.

In other news, we just got a giant new cage for our ferrets. It is 3 levels high and reaches almost to the ceiling in our living room. I think they love the extra room. Poor Destroyer has been coughing a lot lately, sounding like he has asthma or something. I hope he gets better soon.

I am determined to use a midwife and have a natural birth. I watched the movie The Business of Being Born a few nights ago, and it really helped me make a firm decision.

Anyway, on with life :)

Monday Monday

Now I'll have that song stuck in my head.

My husband and I got up early to go to the gym again this morning. Apparently my neighbor shot a coyote and it's hanging from the tree in his front yard. Gross.. and sad. I like coyotes :(

Anyway, the workout was good... I'm excited about the new WW plan that launched, but also nervous. This morning breakfast was 1 slice of ezekiel toast, and 3/4 of a grapefruit sprinkled with stevia. Yum!

Tuesday

Thanksgiving this week- hooray for a day off work!

Last night I made homemade chocolate chip cookies. They are 3 WW pts each though, so I could only eat a couple with the daily points I had leftover last night. They were good though- soft and chewy and warm :)

Today on the docket-

Breakfast: organic ezekiel english muffin with 1 TBSP organic cream cheese and a clementine.

Lunch: Leftovers from last night- A salad with one Quorn "Chikn" fillet(1pt), Organic Spinach, organic celery, carrots,a and cherry tomatoes, with one serving croutons, 2 tbsp organic parmesan and 1 tbsp Newman's Own Light Italian dressing with lemon. (2 pts)

Not sure what dinner will be.. perhaps I will make an asian noodle dish with my whole grain rice noodles... we shall see.

I had a GREAT workout this morning. Elliptical machine- only a half hour, but I worked my butt off. Mumford and Sons was a great help.

Young Chinese farmers sowing seeds for organic revolution

Young Chinese farmers sowing seeds for organic revolution

Success!

I went to the gym Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week. Woot!

Alas, now it is Monday, and I did not drag my butt out of bed at 5:30. I was up til 11:30 running around the house trying to get ready for work and lunch (and the gym), so I got to bed later than I wanted to.

I am on call this week though, so it may be better for me to go in the evenings this week. Half the time I get calls between 5am-8am anyway, and being at the gym ins't conducive to doing tech support. That way I can work out after work and not worry about it since the phone is covered until 8 pm.

I did bring all my gear with me, because I am planning on going right after work. Now I just need to actually MAKE my weight watchers meeting this week. I feel much more focused when I go to meetings, plus I get my weekly weigh-in, which helps keep me on track.

Today- breakfast: Wheat Crumpet (80 calories, 0 fat, 1 fiber OR 1 WW Pt) + 1 TBSP Organic Cream Cheese (1 WW Pt) + 1 clementine (1 pt)= 3 PTS

Lunch- Organic French Meadow Bakery Bagel with Ezekiel Grains - 4 PTS + 1/4 cup homemade sundried tomato hummus (3 PTS) + sliced Cucumber (0 pts) and 1 cup organic grapes (1 pt) = 8 pts- this is a little high for lunch for me, but since my breakfast was so small, it should be ok.

Snack: Either Primal Strips Meatless Jerky (1-2 PTS) or A cheese stick and a pear (2-3 pts)

:: Workout ::

Dinner: 1 Quorn Cheeseburger* (Calories: 100, Fat: 4 grams, Carbs: 8 grams, Fiber: 3 grams, Protein: 11 grams OR 2 WW Pts) on an Ezekiel Bun (3 pts) with Kale chips (2.5 pts) + 1/2 cup of Amy's vegetarian baked beans (2 pts)

So all in all, point totals are:
Breakfast: 3.5
Lunch: 9.5
Dinner: 9
Snacks: 3-4 pts
= 20-26 pts

* Side-note- I love Quorn products- meatless and soyless protein (for when you're all soy'd out!). Not vegan, they contain eggs.

Leafy Sea Dragon at Tampa's Florida Aquarium

Here's a video I shot at the Tampa Aquarium in Florida of the Leafy Sea Dragons- beautiful creatures! My brother is talking with me in this video, and does say the "F" word, so sorry about that! Put it on mute if you have kids watching?
